(Kalispell, Mont.) -- Calling it a "major win for Montana's outdoor heritage and jobs," Max announced Thursday that plans to develop coal bed methane in British Columbia have been dropped.
The energy giant BP was attempting to develop coal bed methane, which Max has long argued could have devastating impacts to the North Fork Flathead River, which runs into Flathead Lake. However, after meeting such fierce opposition from Max as well as Senator Jon Tester, Governor Brian Schweitzer, and numerous groups from both Montana and Canada, BP told Max on Thursday that they were abandoning any development plans.
